God Knows Our Needs (1-31-12)

Psalm 50:11 - "I know every bird of the mountains, and everything that moves in the field is Mine."

God knows your future, He knows the plans He has for you, He knows your deeds, He knows your thoughts, and He also knows your needs. This is what He is communicating in Psalm 50. God is not lacking anything, the earth and all it contains belongs to Him. In Psalm 50:10-12 He says - "For every beast of the forest is Mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird of the mountains, and everything that moves in the field is Mine. If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and all it contains." God says that everything is His, He doesn't lack anything and there is nothing that He doesn't know about or see personally. He knows every animal, every bird, and He sees their needs and provides all that they need for life. We're told in Psalm 147:9 - "He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens which cry." Animals are born with something that we call instincts. They know at a certain season to do a particular thing, and scientists can't explain it. Its just instincts. But God is the one who put that there.

God knows every beast of the field and every bird of the air, none of them escape His notice. Jesus says in Matthew 10:29-31 - "Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows." If not even a bird can fall to the ground without His notice, do you think that any need of ours is hidden from Him? In Matthew 6:26 He says - "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?" If God knows and provides for the birds of the air then we can certainly trust Him to take care of us and our needs. After all, the world is His, and all it contains. Whatever we need He is able to provide.

Matthew 6:31-33 - "Do not be anxious then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘With what shall we clothe ourselves?’ For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
