Psalm 68:34 – “Ascribe strength to God; His majesty is over
Israel and His strength is in the skies.”
As I was reading this chapter the last part of this verse stood out to me. “His strength is in the skies.” What does that mean? Well, I can't say that I know exactly, but as I was thinking about it I started thinking about things that are in the skies. The first three things that came to mind were the sun moon and stars. All three are in the skies and all three are sources of light. So is Gods strength light? I think that light is at least part of Gods strength.
Ephesians 6:10-12 says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
In these verses we're told to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might because we are at war with the forces of darkness. Ephesians 5:18 tells us that we are “children of the light,” fighting the forces of darkness with the strength of God. How do you fight darkness? With light.
Habakkuk 3:11 says – “Sun and moon stood in their places; They went away at the light of Your arrows, At the radiance of Your gleaming spear.” In this verse it speaks of Gods weapons. His arrows and spear, and it says that the sun and moon went away at the light of His weapons. And a few verses before that, in verse 4 it says, “His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, And there is the hiding of His power.” This verse seems to be saying that Gods power is hidden in His light.
So I think that there is enough evidence to conclude that Gods strength includes, but isn't limited to, light.
