Proverbs 30:8-9 (8-30-10)

“Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion, That I not be full and deny You and say, "Who is the LORD?" Or that I not be in want and steal, And profane the name of my God.”

These are a couple of cool verses. Asking God to supply what we need, and only what we need. Not too much, not too little. If He gives us to much, our attention will be on the gift rather than the Giver. When we have more than we need God is usually the first thing to be crossed off the list. What do I need God for when I have all this stuff? All this money? All this food? What more could anyone want? When people have great riches God never gets any credit. They act like they did it all themselves. But the Bible clearly states: "The blessing of the LORD makes rich." He's the One who gives it. So that we don't lose focus, it's better to ask God to supply our needs rather than our wants.

Philippians 4:19 - "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." He'll never give too little.
